Trying to keep up with all the rumors about the “Google Phone” has been great sport. Fortunately, we are finally getting some real meat to go with all those potatoes.

Google has released YouTube videos of the Gphone, or rather the Android OS. This looks promising. There is even a $10 million Android challenge for developers.

Back in the Saddle Again

I am sorry for the scarcity of posts over the last week. Blame some of it on Thanksgiving. Our daughter was back in Michigan from San Fransisco for the holiday. Also, my mother-in-law had some major surgury that required a lot of our attention for a few days and I am in the process of doing some library web development that is fun, but time consuming.

If you missed my almost daily posts, drop me an e-mail to give me some encouragement to continue. This stuff does take time and effort, you know. My address can be found on the “Contact” page that is accessible from the menu above.

Adam Sender is the 38 year-old owner of a $100 million contemporary art collection. He also runs a hedge fund in New York City. He seems to have both a lot of money and a strong need for a lot of information. This photo of him and his many monitors was taken in his New York office in January of 2007. It  was shot by Bloomberg News..

This Site Could Be 37% Worse

I could not resist running this site through these folk’s “testing process”.

This site is certified 63% GOOD by the GematriculatorThe Gematriculator is a service that uses the infallible methods of Gematria developed by Mr. Ivan Panin to determine how good or evil a web site or a text passage is.

Basically, Gematria is searching for different patterns through the text, such as the amount of words beginning with a vowel. If the amount of these matches is divisible by a certain number, such as 7 (which is said to be God’s number), there is an incontestable argument that the Spirit of God is ever present in the text. Another important aspect in gematria are the numerical values of letters: A=1, B=2 … I=9, J=10, K=20 and so on. The Gematriculator uses Finnish alphabet, in which Y is a vowel.

Experts consider the mathematical patterns in the text of the Holy Bible as God’s watermark of authenticity. Thus, the Gematriculator provides only results that are absolutely correct.

How She Got Lucky Massaging Google

Estimates are that 1,000 people each have more than $5 million worth of Google shares from stock grants and stock options. This is the story of one of them, their masseuse.

Google logoBonnie Brown was fresh from a nasty divorce in 1999, living with her sister and uncertain of her future. On a lark, she answered an ad for an in-house masseuse at Google, then a Silicon Valley start-up with 40 employees. She was offered the part-time job, which started out at $450 a week but included a pile of Google stock options that she figured might never be worth a penny.

1968-Pontiac-FirebirdI ran across a photo of a red 1968 Pontiac Firebird the other day. It brought back many pleasant memories of the first car Peggy and  I bought after we were married.

We were newlyweds in the fall of 1970. I was working the afternoon drive shift at WBCM AM/FM in Bay City, Michigan, when we decided to trade in our 1963 Chevrolet Impala that I referred to as “Peggy’s dowry”. (Read more)

A Trojan Horse for the Mac

Apple ll logoIn case you haven’t heard, a trojan horse in-the-wild is now being dropped that is infecting Macintosh users. The same trojan also infects Windows machines. Previously, PCs had the vulnerability all to themselves due to the fact that Macs had not yet been seriously targeted by malicious hackers. Alas, that time of innocence seems to have passed for Mac users.

All the gory details and even a screenshot are posted on SunbeltBLOG.
